    Question Faulty G5 Logitech mouse

I bought a limited edition G5 Logitech mouse in May 08 and recently it's become faulty. It wasn't dropped or anything, just suddenly started to switch on and off intermitantly. I know it's a few years later but wanted to see if I had any recourse either with Prophecy or Logitech and if so how would I go about it?

I'm kinda miffed because I spent quite a lot on it and my MX500 which I bought a few years before this one still works perfectly.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Jono

There's a one year warrenty afaik so you're outta luck.

The reason it's giving problems is because of the cable. Same thing happened to mine.

    Hi Guest,

I'm afraid there's not much we can do about that. If you know someone who has skills in electronics, you could ask him to look at it, but that's about all you can do, I'm afraid.

The mouse (as stated by Unk) only has a 1 year warranty. I'm afraid this is the perfect scenarion for the statement, "you win some, you lose some". With the MX518 you won, and with this one, you lose.

Really sorry to be the bearer of bad news

No worries, I figured as much RE: the warranty.

Also I always thought the cable on this damn this was a design flaw! Far to unflexible for a mouse cable, something you would expect to find on a cheap iron. Did you work out where your cable frayed? I guessing right at the point it goes into the mouse? If so I recon I'll open her up and splice off that section of wire and resolder.

Opened it up, looped the cable and tucked it in so the suspect section is immobile inside the mouse and it's working perfectly again.
