Their stuff really isn't all that special, especially their keyboards mostly suck. And the X7 might seem great and I admit it's far better than any office mouse but it's not THAT good of a deal, it's mostly a you get what you pay for thing, perhaps a little better but not much. In fact I'd go so far as to say the X7 is the ONLY product A4Tech makes that one might consider owning. You'll find MUCH better mice for about double that price but still very much on the cheap side when compared to the real premium mice.

so i got me the X7 - and i am extremely impressed.

the mouse fits into my hand like a glove, the contours feel so natural, it doesnt feel like i'm holding a mouse, rather that my hand is the mouse. if that makes any sense at all

it has 6 'feet', making the mouse feel like its gliding instead of sliding on the pad.

the oscar program for the mouse is brilliant, you can create macro's for any game, or download from the community.

all in all, i am really impressed with this mouse. it cost me only R250, and its more than equal to its over-priced competition/s.

All that says it that you haven't tried the "overpriced" competition and this is your first mouse you paid more than 80 bucks for. My friend has one and it's completely inferior to my Stinger and any other gaming mouse I've used (and I've used a couple). There's nothing overpriced about gaming mice up to R550, only after that do they start getting expensive and perhaps a little overpriced. I'd much rather have a Cyborg R.A.T 3 or R.A.T 5.

    previous mice owned:
razer deathadder (got it when it came out)
razer imperator (got it when it came out)
logitech G5 (emergency purchase cause the imperator died)

presumptions are the mother of all ****ups.

You can't possibly be telling me that the X7 is better or even as good as an Imperator? In that case they've changed it from the way it was 3 years ago because that was a pathetic mouse, I'd have picked any 1200 DPI capable optical mouse over it.

I really have to wonder though when you've owned mice that good why did you suddenly decide to look in the bottom of the barrel?

Does yours also have that nasty chrom coloured plastic?

why dont you try it first before you continue to flame me. i am a gamer, i buy top-end gear for my gaming delight, this mouse is more than equal to any of the mice i've had before and whats available now.

btw - why the heck are you so aggro about this?

ps: the mouse can go to 3600dpi.

I've tried it....that's the only way I could express that sort of Opinion on it. Every single time I go to to my friend's house I use the X7 and every time I can't wait to get back to my Stinger, or when I was still using my 1200DPI Optical Trust GM-4200 Predator I couldn't wait to get back to that either despite that mouse being clearly inferior.

Also that the mouse can go to 3600 DPI doesn't mean much, unless you set the sensitivity in games to their very lowest you'll never use that much speed. Mine goes to 3200 but at 2400 DPI it's already so fast that it's uncontrollable. And most of the time I just use 1600 DPI.

I'm "aggro" about this since based on my experience I feel telling everyone to get this mouse is the wrong thing, sure you may have been satisfied, but based on my experience it's a poor mouse so I'd see it as a bad thing if everyone suddenly just goes for that. Compared to the absolute cream of the crop mice and their prices all the mice in the R500 range are still dirt cheap and a better choice in my opinion.

Edit: which X7 specifically did you get? I see they make more than 1 now.
This is the one my friend had
    http://www.x7.cn/en/product.asp?id=13
and then later get got himself a keyboard and mouse combo that had this
    http://www.x7.cn/en/product.asp?id=32

That first one is one of the worst mice ever made. The second is a little better but still inferior to most other mice I've tried.

That only does 3000 DPI though? you were saying it did 3600 DPI?

Also I didn't know that they made other mice these days since I can still get that original X7 at one or two of the local shops around here so I see it when I go to buy something else.

pretty sure it was 3600. could have been the mead talking.

if you're in cape town, and want to, you can come test the mouse.

Unfortunately I'm on the other side in Durbs. From googling it though since the A4tech website doesn't have any proper pics it appears it has pretty much the same shape as the Stinger though so it's no wonder that you like the mouse and in that case I take everything I said about it back.
At least if it's this mouse: A4Tech X7-F3 V-Track unboxing and impressions

In that case I understand why you prefer it to the Imperator since it has a nicer shape and isn't exactly much worse spec-wise.
