Is the Asus PA238Q Monitor available locally yet?
Any guestimate on pricing?

There are no plans at this stage to bring in the PA238Q, as the demand for the monitor is not high enough.

What do you mean demand not high enough. I also want one. And I aint changing from my old benq unless I know I'm buying quality, and the PA238Q is that quality. Here's to asus za getting the screen.
P.S. Your losing customers to Samsung... If this screen didn't show up in my radar I'd have been stuck with a half decent samsung, as thats what everone else is getting. look in your pc format 177 pg 30. They had a "techgasm" over this screen, which I don't see the point of if I can't buy it in S.A. On pcf forums, people are also asking after it. I waited for it this long, why not wait some more.

OK, Asus responded to the monitor query. Apparently their monitor importer decided to drop the brand in favour of another cheaper brand. So, they're sitting without an importer for their screens at the moment. They're working on getting a new importer, but it'll take some time. MY guess it a couple of months, at least.

Well I guess that importer is sitting with allot of unpurchased "cheaper monitors", seeing as no one wants to buy poor quality. Unless its a business looking for inexpensive...
That is all the time I need to get the funds for it.

Unfortunately that statement could not be further from the truth. The vast majority goes for the cheapest price tag they can get.

Yea, and unfortunately, this particular brand is not only cheap, but also the only brand in the country that offers a 3 year warranty, so perceptions isn't so onesided
