i cant browse the forums, every time i try to go into a section, or try to open a thread - i get this error:

Are you using a proxy server to browse the forums?

im at the office, and we are behind proxies, but never had this problem before.

Hmmm. This thing blocks proxies (which has been a problem for a LONG time already). Spam bots makes use of proxies to hide their IP addresses. By doing this, they bypass any IP banning that we do, and can register 100's or 1000's of times via a proxy.

Is there a way that you can browse without using a proxy? I suppose not, hey? Let me investigate a bit and see what I can do to get this fixed. However, I'm not confident that we can get past this without disabling the spam filter. I'll see what I can do and get back to you.

By the way, this is exactly the reason why I took so long to install a spam filter. Just for the record.

thx Firestar, the last time i accessed the site from work was last wednesday, all was still fine, was off sick since then, so i cant say exactly when this change came in. im gonna miss browsing the site though....
but dont remove the spam filters, stop them spam rather.
