    Help needed with monitors

    Hay guys

I need a bit of help to decide on the right monitor.

I am thinking of getting 1 of the following the Samsung Bx2450 and the Samsung P2770H. I will be using it mainly for gaming and watching movies . Now i know they say that bigger is better but my question to you guys is I have a ati 4870 1gb so how will these screens perform with this card...

    thank you and regards.

They are the same resolution so it all comes down to what you want to do more. Play games ( smaller 24" then) or watch HD movies (27" then)

Personally i would love a P2770 to watch movies on. The 4870 might struggle a lot when you try to play games on that resolution though.

Yes the HD4870 1GB will be able to handle both screens. I had a HD4870 512MB pushing a 19" and a 23" with no problems at all. I suggest you get the 24" though as the card will struggle with the 27" resolutions
    Hope this answers your question..

Why don't you wait a month or two then and get the 27" at the same time you get your new card ( I recommend the HD5850 )

1920x1080 is 1920x1080 regardless of whether it's being rendered on a small 21.5" or a full 47" HDTV (or anything inbetween if I have to spell it out for you). The card doesn't care about the physical size of the screen, just the res. So I say bigger is better and P2770H all the way.

Now if this debate was between two 16:10 monitors one 24" and capable of 1920x1200 and the other a 28" capable of 2560x1600 it would be an entirely different story.

If the res of that olympic roll up screen (that took up an entire arena) they had is 1080P then your card would render on that without any problems either.

Yeah I reckon you should go for the P2770H. It's pricing is so close to the decent 24" screens but it's a whole bit bigger. Bigger IS better when it comes to computer hardware.

Both screens are exactly the same specs wise. It's only the actual physical size that makes a difference, so you must decide how far you're going to sit from the screen, and if 27" won't be too big for you. You'll see the same picture, with the same performance from the card on either.
