Missing posts - forums down. Hi Everyone,
Sorry guys. I had to restore to an earlier backup of the database (taken early yesterday morning). Our database became corrupt and we couldn't save the data. Sorry about that.
The forums was down from around 3 pm yesterday till around 1 am this morning. We are still working on the problems and there will be more down time and slow downs over the next couple of days. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Please use this thread to report any bugs (not missing posts - there is nothing I can do about that) that you find. Emails not going through, and things like that. We had to rebuild the server last night, so not sure if everything is set up the way it was before yet. Thanks!

Any idea what caused everything to go corrupt, besides the SSD theory?

It's one of our hard drives that went bad. Not the SSD, no. That's still going strong.
Our backup OS drive went corrupt and stopped the server from booting up after doing a security upgrade yesterday. We only figured that out when it was too late to reverse the things we did to try and fix it. So, we reinstalled (which is a good thing). So, there you have it

Rule Number 1: ALWAYS make a backup before trying to fix something. Customer's Windows installation needs a repair? Clone the drive first. Virus removals? Keep System Restore enabled. A bad backup is better than no backup at all

Well, that was kind of the problem. We did make backups, but those were corrupt. Secondly, in order to make the backups, we had to mess with the permissions of the files and the structures, which made it incredibly insecure to make use of those same files again.
