The problem with paypal at the moment, is that there's no way for us to actually get the money from Paypal. We investigated this, and it's only useable for exporting (either services or products). So, legally, there's no way for us to get the money into the country. For example, since Carbonite.co.za is now accepting paypal payments for the forum subscriptions, I've not yet gotten a single cent for it. There's 100's of USD's on that account and I cannot actually get the money, since it's illegal to bring the money into the country, while declaring it as an export service. Sars wil freak out, and I don't really want to mess with Sars.

Another problem with this is that, a customer will have to pay the transfer fees, and this is something that will change, so we cannot really notify the customer about this. It's basically changing all the time with the exchange rate, and these fees is for the customer's account, not ours. This is unfair and unethical (in my opinion) as I never want to give a customer a charge that he doesn't know about.

So, right now, this isn't an option. However, I did speak to FNB and Paypal, and they both said that negotiations is in progress to get Rands onto Paypal, after which this will become a viable option. We're waiting with baited breath
