Upgrade, and the new Mobile style

Hi Everyone,

There is now a new mobile style for the forum. It's not customised, so it'll have the default VB logo and so on (I'll fix this up later), but at the very least, it's a VERY nice, workable mobile solution. Pretty decent alternative to Tapatalk, which is a paid solution (unless you want to read only, then it's free).

There are also some other fixes and upgrades. Here is a list, for those interested:

vBulletin 4.1.2 now available for download

Mobile skin is the major upgrade (that we'll make use of).

Let me know if you encounter any bugs or issues.

already checking out if there will be a mobile skin created that looks like the one we have currently on the forums (for both this and Carbonite).

The style is very nice. I quite enjoy it. It certainly beats paying for the iPhone app to be created (costs $300, so not cheap either). I'd rather buy two skins at $30 each, than pay for the apps at $300. Pretty crazy

Used it on my phone, assuming the same upgrade and phone style was implemented on Carbonite?
It certainly looks nice, though is it possible to revert to normal when using a phone? as some of the links aren't working, and the link scroll isn't working very well either. Might only be on my phone though. N97 with Opera Mini 4

Carbonite does have the same skin, yes.

There is a full site link at the bottom, yes. So, you can, if you wish, change to the full site and back again.

Let me know exactly what you're talking about with links not working? This is the first version of the mobile skin, so there might be bugs. Let me know which page, and which links, and I'll have a look at it on my phone. I'll then report the bug if there is one.

^ I can't click that link. Would it be possible to get an edit button in the mobile theme? And the option to view iTrader as well in the mobile version.

iTrader will never be possible via the mobile skin, unless the iTrader guy makes a skin for it. So, it won't happen, sorry.

Okay, links, when I scroll using my directional buttons, the links work fine, though smack talk on carbonite takes me to the show your rig thread, and I have to go back and re-click the smack talk link then, when I scroll using touch, the links aren't selectable, when I poke the links, the background is selected and it reload the page, yet when I'm in a thread, page numbers etc are fine for touch browsing, but thread and topic links aren't.

Also, when switching to the full site, it reverts back to mobile view on the next use, I haven't tried this, but Silverlight has noticed this problem

Ok, skins are selected and remembered using cookies. So, make sure you accept cookies for the site. Try again and use the full site, please? I will test the above later today and see which of these I also get.

Lastly, please do remember that this is the very first version of this skin, so there are bound to be bugs. Many of the bugs might also be due to add-ons that's causing issues, so VBulletin might not have received bug reports of these, since they do not run any add-ons.

I'll feed back and see what I can do.

Oh, and thanks! Keep the bug reports coming!
