    Question LA Noire Anyone?

Anyone played this I mean no one actually talked about it, and yeah only finished it now (slowpoke) brilliant game! 2nd Rockstar game I love to pieces, Red Dead Redemption being the other game. But talk about a ****ed up ending seems Rockstar these days love their ****ed-up endings. Totally not my type of game but I ended up enjoying more than most games I played so far this year.

Yeah, the majority of PH users did not like this game. Even EyeGod skipped it after awhile(don't even know if he ever got back to it and finished the game).
I loved it to *bits*, even with the ending it gave. Would recommend anyone who loves Noire films/games to play this one.

Most likely because it takes you out of that comfort zone we are used to since you dont get many games like La Noire which is a shame because the game is done brilliantly just watching this video gives you a sense of the effort that was put in:

No, I did finish it, but I found it very disappointing. From a storytelling and presentation point of view it was virtually flawless, but, for a game that was advertised as being a sort of sandbox GTA in 1940-50 LA, it fell very short.

You really had very little choice in how to solve cases, and it all felt so...scripted, for lack of a better word. You couldn't actually mess up - the game just gave you a bad score, but you still progressed, and I found this very frustrating and rather game-breaking.

Furthermore the gunplay mechanics left a LOT to be desired after the awesomeness of Red Dead Redemption... I just couldn't understand how this portion of the game could be so broken after RRD.

Finally, the game's ending felt a bit forced and contrived. Perhaps I'm being super critical, but I don't think it's undeserved as LA Noire was setup and marketed to be the next big thing. Sadly it fell miles short of achieving that status...

Dude sounds more like you rode on in expectations you set by yourself and not the developers and comparing it to other games made by the same studio but a different branch. Personally I loved the game only issue I had was the shooting mechanics. As for being possible not to mess up the game by getting the cases wrong the game would be near impossible and unforgiven if you would play an hour a case only to find you need to restart the whole case because you got a single answer wrong.

It's just that there were no real consequences for being a bad cop. I feel the game was totally hyped up and the final product was a gross misrepresentation of what their marketing people had you believe from all the awesome trailers. I really bought into that hype and was hugely disappointed.

I'm still playing it off and on. Since it's a checkpoint autosave title though I rarely play it since I rarely have 2-3 unbroken hours. I absolutely love it and at the same time am quite disappointed, whilst I wasn't expecting anywhere near the content of GTA I was expecting a little more "life" within the city (like say for instance the "hidden" cars providing me with additional choices as cop car) and I can't stand the way I "select" clues since it's a mere proximity thing and not really an exact pointing out of the item which one could achieve with a crosshair for instance (feels VERY consolized and unprecise) and then 30 FPS lock sucks too. And I just really can't stand the autosaves that aren't even location but rather event saves.
I've been waiting for this sort of game all my gaming live though, it's just sad the execution isn't as sharp as it could be.
