On topic: got the app open in front of me right now - it's pretty nice, just not sure I wanna splash that much cash on it... It does let you zoom right in though, which was really what I've been missing in the game, just for the sake of pathfinding. What would be REALLY comprehensive would be if it logged into you gamer profile or accessed your latest save (if it was saved on the cloud) and updated the map according to your actual in game progress...

I was about to say just that.

Finding myself on another map would probably take longer, than simply playing from where I am.

Wikipedia disagrees, but yes. Old data is old.

Trying to determine the worlds biggest company for one day is like trying to determine who is the fastest sprinter in the world by only measuring their first step.

Of course their sales skyrocketed because they launched a new product, so of course their stock is going to go up, just like it is going to decline again after the sales start slowing.

Its the long run that matters not just the first 2 seconds of the race.

From an article dated 25 Jan 2012:

Apple surged past Exxon Mobil as the world's biggest company

    [...]

After Apple and Exxon, there is a big drop off in size for the biggest publicly-traded companies in the world.

Beijing-based PetroChina comes in third at about $270 billion, followed by Microsoft, worth $245 billion.

Fourth-quarter iPhone shipments topped even the highest estimate on Wall Street: a 33 million estimate from Jefferies. iPad, Mac, iPod sales all exceeded consensus analysts’ expectations, along with the company’s gross margin, coming in at almost 45 percent.

Wallmart Link:List of companies by revenue - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    From your wikipedia article:

Revenue is only one of many ways of measuring company size and it is not the most appropriate for all purposes. Using a different measure, such as total assets or market capitalisation, would produce a fundamentally different list.
So we can argue facts or at least come to an agreement that Apple is, at they very least, much bigger than MS, and in terms of sales and adoption rates for iOS devices in homes all over the world, an app like the one in question in the OP, isn't a 'stupid idea', as Schumi would like us all to believe, regardless of whether gamers are playing Skyrim on PC or consoles.
