Thumbs up Shadows of the Damned

Ahaha loving this so far but then I loved all the other stuff Grasshopper did like Killer 7 way back when I had the Gamecube and No More Heroes on the Wii. Seriously guys if you haven't given this game a go yet I can highly recommend it. No brainer silly over the top action and you got to love the writing style they employed and the banter between Garcia and Johnson like these gems:

Mr X: Hard men like us don't mixJohnson: Wait! was that a come on?
    Mr X: Forget it
    Johnson: I don't think I ever will...
Johnson: "It sounds like a cat having sex with a harminca, and not the consensual kind."Garcia: "Hey, every demon has the right to pick the music for their own funeral."
Here is the trailer for it:

Borrowed it from SauRoN a couple of months ago, but I purchased it now that Kalahari had it on special. Brilliant game.

I'm also quite keen on picking up No More Heroes Paradise as well, I see Take2 has it on the cheap. Lollipop Chainsaw is also due in the next couple of months.

Larch have you gotten to reading some of the books?

    That shit is the funniest.

Lollipop isn't looking all that appealing to me, but then again neither did SotD.

My biggest gripe with SotD was that for all it's bizarreness it wasn't "adult" enough in my opinion.

Doubt Lollipop will be much better.

Ahaha finished Shadows of a Damned what a wonderfully sick, twisted and weird game definitely one of my favourite games of 2012 so far.

Glad you enjoyed it as wel.

I suspect a great many people just won't "get" it.

I'm stuck at the boss who climbs on his horse all the time - any advice?

    The pooping horse?

If I recall you need to hit him while in the darkness, or while in the light or some such.

It is pretty easy at the start of the fight just run and dodge him until he takes a big steamy crap, you will notice the darkness covers that area run into it and aim for his back you will see a glowing red orb. Shoot it a couple of times and he will go down. Then it will jump up on the center of the plaza and go on its rear legs hit the red spot on its belly. Wash repeat and rince till you defeat him. The 2nd Phase of the boss fight you just need to hit all the red orbs and it will start pissing darkness hit the guts that are spilling out to defeat him.

OK cool I was on the right track then. Old men need difficulty settings for these types of games. I would have hit the "Easy" a long time ago.

But it has difficulty settings? If I recall you can even change them in the middle of the game.

It definitely has difficulty settings. I vividly recall having to struggle through the second last boss battle because the hard difficulty level is bugged at that specific level.

It has? Then I certainly need glasses. I might have chosen at the start - "normal" - maybe there is no on-the-fly difficulty setting? Strife - did you change mid-game?

Lemon Hunter (Easy) Demon Hunter (Medium) Legion Hunter (Hard)

No I didn't. Pushed through and completed on Legion Hunter, not sure if you can change the difficulty after the fact.

Crappy thing is, the difficulty achievements don't stack. So you need to clear all the difficulties to get all the achievements.

The game was pretty damn hard at time, but more so for glitchyness than anything else. Especially those "chase" scenes.

I don't recall having any glitches with the "chase" scenes.
