Yep. 2 English servers for the europe region now sitting at 2h+ queues. The game is looking good so far.

So far its looking really good. It does have your mmo elements much like wow but it actually feels very streamlined. The side quests feel almost like part of the main story.

"please kill 10 snipers while you are on the way to that town. They are preventing refugees from getting into the town". Trying out Republic as i will be playing Empire on launch.

I've been playing a Sith Inquisitor on the US servers since they have so many English servers and am up to level 11. No DC issues, no quest bugs. The questing is actually very fun, it almost feels like a single player game even with all the rest of the people there. Grouping is very easy and nicely done as well.

If you enter an instance with other people they can help your main quest or each can do their own. Quest objectives is easy to understand and even confirm that everyone has completed it as well. Click and you get a tick on your head that shows it is done, but everyone in the instance must then click within 10 seconds of each other before the tick disappears.

The voice acting is brilliant, had one class quest where it was a bit dodgy but otherwise this is sooo much fun.

US servers went off the grid for some reason Had to reroll on EU so went for a Jedi Consular. Wow do the sides differ! Reavs, you are gonna LOVE the Sith, story is so much more evil and fun :P

Jedi side is pretty though, giving you the KOTOR style choices along the way.

I've played on and off. (Keep in mind, this is the first MMO I've invested more than 30 minutes of my time into. I managed to convince the wife that I can handle 1 MMO. )

I'm really impressed by it. The best way to describe it IMHO is that it's a Bioware single player RPG, just with a bunch of other folks running around. Voice acting is good, and the stylised art direction isn't as grating as I feared.

I've been disconnected once or twice, and on Friday I had the odd problem where, in the middle of a starting quest, for no reason at all, it simply quits to desktop. I'm massively overspecced for the game, but I turned down the graphics and it seems a bit better now. Playing on English EU servers.

My biggest challenge is the MMO lingo. I am WAY out of my depth here.

Btw are you guys rolling Pubes or Empire at launch? Pve or PvP server?

Republic and PVE. Being a total noob when it comes to mmorpg , pvp would be too big a challenge for me currently.

Been messing around with fraps and just realized the voice of the female trooper is femshep. Ignore the clicking, couldnt be bothered to setup keybinds in the beta.

I love femshep's voice, perfect embodiment of a physically and mentally empowered confident female voice to me.

I see that in this version of the Star Wars universe guns are not designed to kill fast, must be more fun getting shot at than winning gunfights. It is going to be the number one thing that is going to bug the heck out of me, I will REALLY have to work hard at trying to see how two people standing toe to toe with guns can shoot at each other for a whole ammo clip before someone drops.

Sigh, but hey, I still want to play.

Its really just the same as two mages throwing fireballs at each other.

It is just easier to justify these things in a fantasy setting, resistances, armour, magical shields and the like. Two people standing still, shooting at each other for over a minute, no cover, just weird. I guess its the same as chipping away at a poor alien wildlife specimen for over 5 minutes with a lightsaber, when all you have ever seen of lightsabers in the movies is insta-kill or dismemberment.
