Prophecy.co.za is down: technical issues on the server

Unfortunately we have been the target of hackers on our site, www.prophecy.co.za. We where able to detect the intrusion early, and no customer data has been compromised. This was not a targeted or malicious hack aimed at us as a company, but an attempt to use our server as a host.

As a precaution, we are taking the site offline in order to do a full security audit, and to investigate the exploit that was used and fix it.

Rest assured that we are on top of this, and will have it solved as soon as possible. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us on 011 888 2858, or email us on orderupdates@prophecy.co.za.

Our email will be unnafected by this down time.

UPDATE:

We are moving over to a new server, we anticipate the site some time on Monday, depending on how long the DNS takes to propogate. We will update here as soon as we have more information, thanks for your patience!

Will this delay the current orders? A friend of mine placed one during the week and wants to know.

There might be a delay, but we're aiming to ship all orders that was collected yesterday (Friday) this coming Monday afternoon. As soon as we're up, we'll assess the situation (to see what we can do with regards to orders) and update all customers accordingly. This should be Monday afternoon, if all goes well.

We're working hard to try and get everything up and running as soon as possible.

any changes we'll have to make (like url changes or something like that) with the server change or should everything function as before once it's back up again?

I don't foresee any URL changes (the application stays the same - just with some security updates). The new server should act exactly as the existing server, and we should have no changes at all. However, only time will tell what type of sacrifices we will have to make, if things does not go according to plan.

The clear and honest answer at the moment is thus:
I don't know, but I don't think so.

That's about all I can tell you at the moment.

Just an update - we are working hard to get the server up as soon as possible, at this point we are still expecting it to be up tomorrow. We'll update all customers as soon as we know what affect this has had on order, but currently it looks like it will only delay some order by 1 day (orders that should have shipped Friday, being shipped on Monday).
