    @Bakerman

Sorry to hear it. Sounds like you have RAM issues. As stated, I've gone through 5 sets of 8GB DDR3 1600, all of them gave me at least 4-6 days of AWESOME functionality before slowly deteriorating... While running at stock. No OC. Timings/Voltage entered manually or with XMP Profile...

New RAM => Works like a charm! => Random CRC Errrors. Installation failures etc. => Freeze ups => BSODs => boot failures

    All within about 2-3 weeks.

I've gone through this now with 5 sets of brand spanking new RAM. And all the drama and component changes as in my OP.

Updated the BIOS to the latest Beta, 2001 methinks, no change.

Have taken out my new G.SKILL SNIPER 1.25v memory and put the, now faulty, G.SKILL RIPJAWS X Memory back. I'm sitting with too many sets of damaged RAM!

    THIS BOARD IS EATING RAM.

As OP, I've systematically ironed out all possibilities for a short circuit or faulty component by actually replacing the PSU; surge protection; case fans; case; HDD; VGA blah blah blah

Also, if it was a short, I wouldn't be able to boot up with reasonable stability after the CLEAR RTC JUMPER exercise...

Going through a process with ASUS now via the retailer I used (great guys!). I've sent them my crash dumps on request, and will follow their DIY fixes and see what happens.

My motherboard(few months old, B3 version) was causing random BSODs and corruptions, all my RAM sticks failed every memtest in all slots. There's no way all my sticks were bad. I had serious data corruptions on all my drives and I completely lost my one OS, totally unrepairable. My board has made some major data corruptions in the past, but I always thought it was my HDDs or maybe a bad cable.

So I sent my motherboard back to the supplier. In the meanwhile I'm using my friends Maximus IV Extreme and everything was working fine until I got another BSOD. I tested out all the RAM again and found one 4GB stick is faulty, the rest are 110% healthy. So I'll have to return that. I took it out and now I'm running the 3 healthy sticks.

Then suddenly I got another strange BSOD, this time it turned out to be my soundcard. I googled around and it looks like it's a common error, so I did a firmware upgrade.

Since then I've had zero problems and my PC passes every stress test I can throw at it.

Strange thing is that all 3 problems causing BSODs appeared within a few days of eachother, unlucky I guess.

I received a brand new motherboard from Asus (very quickly).
    Great service as usual!

I'm not really an Intel user, I prefer AMD and will keep on using them. I did however acquire a 2600K, first with a nice cheap Biostar Z68 motherboard, which I still have. and now an Asus P67 chipset motherboard. I did not buy new ram so I'm using 2 x sets of Corsair memory, each set different stock timings and speed using 1.65Vdimm. The 1.65Vdimm seems to work and both memory sets seems to function well at 1866mhz with 8 8 8 24 timings with the processor running overclocked for everyday use.

I'm yet to experience a problem, but then again, I'm still learning about Sandy Bridge. On a side note, I was pleasantly surprised by the cheap Biostar motherboard. The only reason I changed is with only a 4 phase VRM the overclock on the board is limited.

I hope you get it sorted out.
