Has this got anything to do with yesterday's announcment? If so, when these die can we expect something like a kit of DDR2000 or a refund?

Ok I think you missed OCZ's announcement. Tony at OCZ has confirmed it as well.

The Annoucement is the discontinuation of lower end ram, so the 800mhz value chips etc, I have spoken with OCZ today and they are not stopping ram like this at all.

DDR800 would be DDR2, no? From what I've heard from Tony, everything DDR1600 and below is EOL.

Yes that is correct, they are trimming down the lines that they offer in order to focus more on the performance lines that people prefer.

Well 2 sets of the 3 x 2gb =12gb

But shouldnt be a prob if your running a 64 bit os though
