OCZ Revodrive / OCZ Revodrive x2
Hi guys
I need some buying advice. I'm running an abit aw9d max board with an intel E6700 at stock speeds and thinking about buying an ocz revodrive or revodrive x2. Will it work on a 975x based board since I see there's an intel board with the same chipset on ocz's website listed under faulty/won't work with that drive. Also is it possible to run a
pcie x4 device in an unused x16 pcie slot?
thanks

The board has to support "boot from PCIE slots"
Check on OCZ's website.

Hi Pugz
Thanks for the query
I'm not 100% sure about that boards compatibility but ill look into it for you, if you can wait a bit longer though, we are expecting the new vertex 3 drives to start shipping soon (very poor stock availability at the moment) these drives will have the same performance as the Gen1 Revo drives and should run at about 500 MB/s and be compatible through regular sata connectors
Thanks
Jude

I might be selling my Revo X2 - 160 gig soon... now that the Revo 3 X2's are announced.
As mentioned, double check your MB if you are considering getting a Revo SSD... on my board ( Asus P6T V2) its brilliant and absolutely flawless with ZERO hickups / funnies... however I know of some MB manufacturers like EVGA which are a total nightmare.
The OCZ forums is the best place for info... Tony has tested the revo on tons of MB's.

Hi Pornolio
Would really be interested in buying your revo should you decide to sell. I checked my motherboard settings and my board does allow boot from add in cards so i'm guessing (hoping) it'll work.

Cool ... I will start hunting for a Revo 3 - X2 ... I have a talent to find these kind of things early. Bought my Revo X2 last year 3rd of November... a day before Anandtech had his version for the review. For some reason, Germany had their stock before any other country in the world...
As for motherboard, yea make sure your board supports it. If its a compatible match, it works flawless and perfect. If you are unsure, ask Tony on OCZ forums... very helpfull guy.
If you are 100% sure your board will take it, and I have my Revo 3, we can discuss a price.
