So myself and Fox1 are having a debate which phone is better. I am for te HTC Desire in everyway - even more so now with the Adroid 2.2 update.
The HTC Desire has a better OS, Flash 10.1 support, bigger screen, more ram.
Whatever iPhone can do, the HTC Desire can do it better..
Please vote for which phone you guys think is better.
P.S: The HTC desire did not ship with any hardware issues, unlike the famous iPhone 4 signal issues.

its a brilliant phone. The market is easy and getting used to Andriod takes you all but 5 minutes.
Only reason a desire(android) is any good is cause it copied apple. So did microsoft!
Please elaborate on how HTC copied the iPhone?
Ok, so lets look at the negatives of the Desire.
1. TERRIBLE battery life. I mean, horrificly, shockingly bad.
2. Android has a shitty marketplace, contrary to popular belief.
3. Finding apps on the market place is near impossible.
These two are good enough for me to not dabble into what is known as android, until they fix the problems. About point number 2. No money, no developers. It's as simple as that. How long will it last, with no money?
I said a while ago to someone else. Why go Android now, while the market place is still in it's infancy, when you can way 2 years, and join a blooming market place at that point in time. Why go through all the growth pains?

For one, its got the same look and feel(iphone 3G/S). But mainly the OS, android is a copy of the iphone OS. When it comes to quality iphone is way better. All apple products are nice, they just cost too much.
My friend has a desire, got his charger in his pocket, it uses roughly 1gig of data a week and anything cool he showed me, i've seen my 3g do

No you're missing my point. The iPhone 4 only have half the memory of the HTC Desire. And it has the extra task of using the GSM network and calling etc. I am sure if you take that out of any phone (Make it not a phone - ie - iPad then sure it will be quicker? )

The iPad has 3G for mails and things all it doesnt do is call. Im sure the data network isnt any less intense than a phone call

My point is simple, if you walk up to 10 random people and ask them do they know off what an iphone looks like, the answer would YES apposed to a HTC desire.
I've used Nexus one, Desire, 3G, 3Gs, and currently I'm using 4.
Here's the conlcusion from my point of view. They're ALL THE SAME.
1. One app blinks from appstore, the next week market place has it. visa versa.
2. Battery life? It's the same downside for all smart phones. Disable 3G, disable GPS, disable push email, dim the brightness, etcetc and you'll get good battery life, but then why use a smart phone when it does zilch?
3. System spec? Obviously one's not going to feel a difference between two processors that have 200Mhz margin
4. Copying? Who copied what? It's a biased point of view from fan boys. Every phone these days have sms and email abilities. Who was original and who copied who?
Just walk/surf around and get the best looking phone within the limit of your moola
Everyone decided to go full touch screen after iphone.
heres a chart with specs - PCWorld honestly i thought the iphone would be worse in most catagories it did better than i thought. Look at the app store sizes though.
It all boils down to personal preference as with everything, no matter the specs, people will chose the phone they want. If you had to offer me any phone for free i would take the iphone 4 no question purely from the joy i have had from the previous versions.
