    Exclamation Club 3D HD6850 problem.

    Hi,

After receiving my order from prophecy yesterday, I installed all of the components. I know that everything is compatible because I built the exact same system for my brother a month ago. I then noticed that my Graphics card, the Club3D Radeon HD6850 1GB OC 1GB GDDR5 256-bit PCI-E x16 was not working. When my VGA screen is plugged into it, in any of the 2 dvi ports (using a dvi to vga converter, which is the only way I can connect it since I only have a VGA screen) it shows a no signal. It also does not appear in the bios or Device Manager (windows 7 ultimate). I have downloaded and installed the latest catalyst drivers but it made no difference. I have troubleshooted the problem to the best of my ability.

These are the steps I have taken:
    I have reset the CMOS
I have disabled the onboard graphics, trying to force the motherboard to read the PCIe card.
I have reseated the GPU a couple of times just to make sure, it is seated correctly and the 6 pin power connector is connected.
I have set the BIOS to use DVI both as analog and digital

After all of this the GPU is still not picked up at all. I know that it is getting power because the GPU fan is spinning.

Could you please help me with any other troubleshooting I can do, or perhaps any other steps that I can take to have this problem fixed.

    My Order number is/was 25964

    Thanks in advance

It's quite an old monitor, but it works fine when I use it on the motherboard's onboard graphics which also uses DVI. The converter works for that. I have also used this monitor on the machine that I previously built for my brother with absolutely no problems. I suspect that this GPU is just DoA but would just like to see if there is anything else I might still be able to do, in case its not.

    Hey Roxor

Im really sorry to hear that you are having a problem with your graphics card, the fact that the card is not working on either of the ports means that there is a chance that the card is faulty, I would suggest sending the card into prophecy and we can get it tested for you asap, there is a problem where the second display port might not work with a Analogue (vga) connector when using a DVI/VGA convertor due to the type of DVi ports on the actual card, but it should still work fine on the primary port.

The best bet would be to give Paul/Chris a shout on 011-888-2858.

    Jude

Thanks Jude, just spoke to someone at prophecy, I'll be taking my card in on monday as they don't have any stock in atm to replace it with if it is indeed faulty.
