After Market Cooler for Radeon 5970

    Good Day

I just bought a Radeon 5970 (second hand), it has a Fan rattle (Sounds like an old IDE harde drive working non stop). Its driving me insane.

Can you get a after market cooler for the 5970?

There is only one brand I could find:

    Arctic Cooling

    Thanx

Thats the cooler you want. Unless your willing to wait for an undetermined amount of time for the ALC GPU cooler which MIGHT be better.

Jude in the arctic cooling support thread could find out if there are one available locally.

Moved to the Arctic Cooling thread, so that Jude can take his finger out of his nose and start importing these already.

No link its just a picture,

If you want some review snippets:
    06 / 2010
    PC World.fr : Accelero Xtreme 5970
The Accelero Xtreme 5970 lowers the temperature of our 5970 for more than 40° C compared to the stock cooler and at the same time also reduces the noise massively. This cooler is a good investment for all those people using the 5970 and being terribly annoyed by the noisy stock cooler.

    04 / 2010
    Overclockersclub : Accelero Xtreme 5970
The performance speaks for itself and is impressive in its own right, but whats even more impressive are the temperatures that the Arctic Cooling Xtreme delivered. This cooler is rated for 300 watts of capacity, but easily out cools the reference solution. The idle temperatures were 14°C cooler than the 2GB HD 5970 at idle using the stock clocks and automatic fan control and still even better, the Toxic was 3°C cooler when you ramp up the fan to 100% when the 2GB card was overclocked. The temperatures of 30°C and 67°C under load are excellent by comparison to the stock cooling offered on the Sapphire HD 5970 OC.

    04 / 2010
    HardwareLuxx : Accelero Xtreme 5970
The Accelero Xtreme 5970 brings an absolutely outstanding performance on Sapphire HD 5970. The card is setting new standards and raising the bar. It's a proof of ATI's superiority over nVIDIA. Accelero Xtreme is keeping the card cool, yet silent even at top performance.

    04 / 2010
    Tweaktown : Accelero Xtreme 5970
On the clock front the card is impressive… and I mean impressive! - Considering the stock clocks on a HD 5970 are 725MHz on the core and 4GHz QDR on the memory, we don't really need to say much else. This only get's possible thanks to the enormous cooling performance of Accelero Xtreme 5970. The cooler keeps the card with it's triple fan design at excellent temperatures while still being silent at the same time. The result is the fastest and most powerful video card in the market.
