Ok, I am not so sure which version Firestar is bringing in so I will have to consult Firestar on that and see which shipment is being brought in first. Only then I can correct it if it is the wrong version and I think Firestar can only sort that out on Monday.

The mouse is the newer one George, the Cataclysm version, I think its just showing the incorrect pic in the store for some reason,

Just liked the look of brushed aluminium, but then again it's probably plastic, saw some horrible pictures where the finish wears off.
Well, To be perfectly honest, this mouse is brand new (launched around same time as cata) so if you were horribly unlucky and something like this did happen to your mouse, You can rest assured that I wouldnt just say it was wear and tear and send you on your way!
For something like that to occur so quickly would definatley be seen as a manufacturing defect(Same as the original wave of Logitech G15 keybaords where the keyboards lettering came off after a week of use), I have however been unable to googlefy similar search results (I was only checking for the new mouse admittedly)
If you could PM the links I would like to read the articles.
