Just maybe another option to manage this, try the power of Google Docs.

Like this:
RIFT GUILD ROSTER

So you can edit it on Google Docs (its just an excel sheet) and don't need to update the original post.

If we had HTML inside posts, you could have this show embedded inside the post [kinda like signatures] and it updating dynamically. But looks like it's disabled, for security reasons i suppose

Okay, click link above - put the full roster up with google docs, anyone with link access can view it.

I can give permissions to people to edit it, just need gmail address.

(thanks diab for most awesome idea, this will make it muuuuuch easier)

Cool, can see it, and can see you are viewing

Might be easier to expose the Web Page [just faster to view] instead of the actual spreadsheet.

To get that link . In the spreadsheet -> Top right is a "Share" -> Select "Publish as Web Site" -> then you will get a dropdown under "Get a Link to Published Data" that will give all the links for all types of format . Pick the "Web Page" one and use the link displayed.

Nice, all the other links also work [i.e. the pdf link or the text link] . Just options and up to you which one you want to present to the viewers. I think the html link is also more phone friendly and such.

Now you just need it to get it on top of the thread

We used to use this to manage Raids/Schedules/Attendance/Performance/Loot and worked pretty well .

Mage summary: cloth squishy with booms AND/OR pets AND/OR heals
Cleric summary: chain mail with heals AND/OR big hammer to the face with or without a pet AND/OR tank with shield and hammer AND/OR spell DPS nukes
