    Abandonedware - The Good Games

Just come across these awsome site, managed to get hold of games I couldn't even remeber the names of!!!

"I could stand corrected but I think theses games are all legal downloads"

Abuse - man this game ROCKS!!

UFO - This plays far better than the remakes.

These sites are loaded with all childhood memories...

The games I've tried so far all work under windows & don't look as bad as I thought they would.

If anyone comes across "Day of The Tentacle" please PM me.

This game is ESA Protected, so it won't/shouldn't be available on abandonware sites.

    TES - Daggerfall

You think Oblivion is big, this game had a 600mb install back in 1995. Biggest game I've ever played, with the possible exception of Fallout, with endless replayability.

Also agree with the UFO - Enemy Unknown as a top favourite. I was raised on greys and plasma rifles

Also do yourselves a favour and get Settlers 2 gold

How could I have forgot about Syndicate.... that game is legend. Think I might still have the originall of Syndicate Plus packed away somewhere.....:cool2:

I've noticed some the games have been removed from the sites due to the fact that they are not true abandonedware, the links bring up a message saying :ike: but I guess that means that the 1's that work are infact LEGAL

This thread has been put forward for being stickied because of how good it is as a resource for abandonware, and so that is what is going to happen! Nice one

Please do remember that piracy is not supported by Prophecy and anything dodgy will be removed.

Lets keep it to the abandonware and keep the quality of the thread high.
It is too late to apologise. I have already forgiven you.

UFO: Enemy Unknown is the greatest game that has ever been created. Period.

Since we're on the subject of abandonware games I'd appreciate some help in finding a game which an old friend of mine used to own. I'm pretty sure that by now it is abandonware so maybe someone here knows what it was called.

I can't remember the exact details of the game but I do remember is that the game was relatively scary. The game basically starts off where your character is locked up in an asylum (or some sort of "madhouse") and the point of the game is to escape without being detected. As far as I recall you start the game off in your holding cell and then have to make your way from there. Sorry if I'm a bit vague but thats about all I can remember.

I've found THE LOST VIKINGS

"don't forget about "d" it's the secondary attack, "space" is primary & "alt x" is quit, 2 bad the game runs slow under windows"

Nevermind, I think the game I'm looking for was called Countdown. A bit of extensive googling did the trick.

I remember that game, there was this guy in the cell next to you who kept baning his head against the wall :wall:

Only game that comes to mind is Dark Seed but that is not the game.

I think it was definitely Countdown. Checked a few screenshots and it looked very familiar. Busy downloading it atm. Also check out http://www.abandonia.com.

    http://www.abandonia.com/ - AFAIK, all legal.

MODs - please remove if you think otherwise.

Also you'll need a DOS emulator to play these games on WinXP

DOS Box - probably the best there is.

EDIT: HiToKiRi - Oops only saw your post now :slap:
