Pretty keen for this game to hit, BF2 to me personally was one of the best FPS i've ever played. Been following the game through enterbf3.com, couple cool screenshots and videos posted up. Anybody else waiting for this to land?

I almost died when I saw the in game preview.
This and ME3 is what I'm amped for in 2011.

I'm not going to be buying many games this year, as I find way too many of them just sit around and gather dust.

This however will be a day one purchase.

Because something that's then effectively just COD with better graphics doesn't do it for me. Been there, done that. I don't give two hoots about the multiplayer and just another military campaign just isn't enough.
The reason why I liked the Battlefield series is because of it's bots, because it still offered the single player something other than a campaign to enhance replay value.

Virtually every shooter these days is a Multiplayer game with ~8 hour campaign slapped on and I want more than that and Battlefield used to be more...but now it isn't. Now it's is the exact same as it's Bad Company spinoff.

So not interested. I'd rather keep an eye on Section 8 - Prejudice and somehow try and organize bandwidth to get it (since it will be Digital Download Only).

Perhaps, but it was also an offline arena shooter or at least as close to it as recent games got.

are you f'n serious? have you ever played/enjoyed BF2? the entire point is multiplayer.
dont see why anyone would prefer bots over the sound of guys crying/whining online, about how they're being owned/bombed. hmmm, unless you're one of them, hehe.

Yes I have...offline, with my bots.

And the issue is more that I can't play online rather than won't. Though yeah I would probably be one of the guys getting owned.

Multiplayer should be done one of two ways IMO, at a LAN or Splitscreen. The faceless online stuff just doesn't have the same class.

Though I guess if I do get capability I'll start playing racers online eventually seeing as every game is more and more geared towards that.

Rune, what was your BF2 nick? I used to play as "Unforgiving", only got into BF2 closer to the end of its life though, so only got under 500 hours in and then started with COD.
