When was the last time you played Rush-Operation Metro? or Operation Firestorm?

This bullshit is going to destroy the game. It happened in UT2K4 at a point where every would vote for the same 3 maps over and over again, and if a different map was voted, 90% of the players would leave. Eventually everyone just became bored of the game left for good.

Is there no way we can contact people in charge of the servers and ask them to put in a map cycle?

Reading you guys talk about BF3 this much, really makes me want to give it a go again.

Will probably make a plan and update that 3Gb patch over the weekend.
I guess all the graphic anomalies I experienced made me stay away for a bit.

i only play on servers that have other maps.

i mostly stick to the back to karkand servers but it doesn't help if your team wants to snipe from the carrier...

    Play games, not platforms

I see EA sent me a few e-mails, what do you think this means?

I have also received a couple of these.

we received your petition and are currently investigating it
AFAIK you receive this email when EA initiates an investigating based on the report you sent in battlelog.

    *Googles*

    What Happens Next?

You will get an email within a day or two stating that they are investigating "bad content" in profile. This is basically a confirmation email that they have your report and are looking into it. The email is sent when they actually look at it so it isn't some polite courtesy email to make you feel important. Chances are, if the person is actually cheating, they will get wiped/banned.

This isn't the major problem with BF3.

The complete lack of ingame VOIP is the problem.
According to DICE we have to settle for battlelog sonar and other 3rd party apps, what they seem to forget is that these apps only work between friends and platoons. What we want is the ability to effectively communicate with the entire team (strangers).

You don't really need the commander mode to command a team, all you actually need is an effective way of communicating with the players.

    What the game really needs:
    - Squad chat
    - Vehicle crew chat
    - Team chat
    - Proximity chat would be awesome

Adding something so simple to the PC version of the game would maybe take a day or two, probably less, so why won't they add ingame VOIP? DICE employees continuously tweet that they're happy with using skype, stating that we should do the same. I think the DICE employees should stop playing their own game and start coding.

Games.saix.net should host the ZA PunkBuster servers.

Still can't play BF3 on my 2tb drive thanks to a corrupt registry key that I can't find.
Works on my old 500gig drive and is fully updated there but won't install past Origin for my main install.
Considering a reinstall but how do you backup a 2tb drive?

    Shift-Del

That will back it all up to heaven, or in your case all your files will find inner peace.

Proper planning by partitioning a drive into an "OS" and "OTHER" partition will prohibit issues like this in future. Then you only have to format the OS partition if something cocks up.

Or better yet, just run two separate drives.
