Placing C4 on a tank is rather easy, you can do it in one of the following ways:

    1. Take the flak perk. Now you're able to run upto a tank place the C4 and blow it up from 2m away without dying.
    2. Take the sprint perk. With this you're able to quickly run upto the tank without it spotting you, place the C4, and then run away from the blast radius.

Something that's really bothering me in BF3 is the AN94.

I really wish they would give this gun real world functionality.

In the first few weeks of BF3 the gun was only able to fire at 600RPM and it's unique 2 round burst was also at 600RPM with no recoil reduction. Now they've upgraded the burst speed to 1200RPM, which is still too low.

In reality this gun can be fired at up to 1800RPM, three times what it is BF3. When using the 2round burst mode the gun will fire 2 bullets at 1800RPM with virtually zero recoil. But that's not all, when firing in full auto mode the first 2 bullets will start at 1800RPM with the recoil reduction cycle and then slack down to 600RPM with normal recoil for more controllable fire, currently in BF3 the full-auto ROF is stuck at 600RPM with massive recoil.

Tips for making the most of the situation:
If people are dying around you, go medic and save their bums from certain death. Many points to be had and you can resuscitate them from over 3 feet away so you are out of line of fire.

If you have lots of lame camping snipers around on your team, shoot them in the head and leave as you won't win.

If you are a camping sniper, I hope you die in a ball of knifey high def pain. You need to assist:
    transitive verb
: to give usually supplementary support or aid to <assisted the boy with his lessons>
    intransitive verb
1: to give support or aid <assisted at the stove> <another surgeon assisted on the operation>
2: to be present as a spectator <the ideal figures assisting at Italian holy scenes — Mary McCarthy>
See assist defined for English-language learners »
See assist defined for kids »
    re·sus·ci·tate/riˈsəsəˌtāt/
    Verb:
Revive (someone) from unconsciousness or apparent death.
Make (something such as an idea or enterprise) active or vigorous again.

Might be useless info and haven't been on here forever but if you press the 'N' key in BF3 you change the zoom on your minimap.

I have come to the conclusion that *some* servers for BF3 are just full of A-Holes who hack and spend all week in front of the PC. Spawn die X 1000.
Find a good server and stick with it for a few rounds.

I sometimes use that when i have to see what's happening ahead but mostly I'm left with a massive blue block covering my screen.

Did a fresh BF3 install yesterday and let it update through the night. This morning it was only at 91% which was weird being on a 4mb line. This afternoon when I got home I realized it goes to 94% and then starts all over again at 81%.

Checked my bandwidth and it burned through around 30Gb's. Thanks Origin.

30gigs? Wow. I just used my spare install to update my BF3 and now I will transfer all the files across to my regular drive of which the BF3 install is corrupt.

    All fun and games.

The following are my favourite guns:
M16A4 with Silencer and 3.4X scope
M249 with Silencer and 3.4X scope for when the tough need to get going and let lots of people know you aren't to be messed with in a confined space.
SKS with Laser add on and 4X scope. This allows you to nail okes whilst running around [semi-auto with hip laser] but it has long range capacity for sniping [medium range scope].
SCAR-H is pretty mean and I like it with Silencer and fast acting sites.

Does anyone know of a review of BF3 before and after patches?

some info is hard to find, like landmines for example.

How many can an engineer have deployed at once, do they stay active until destroyed, detonated you leave the server?

Also, that javelin trick doesnt work from the latest BF3 patch, does it?

Fun game, I suck at it but I enjoy it. Still learning though. Thanks for the thread!

The Javelin that is portrait in the original game is incorrect as far as I know. As soon as you fire it, it's suppose to gain altitude then come down on top of the tank and destroy it as that is the tanks weakest spot.

However, the BF3's Javelin is pretty weak and it tends to go straight into the side of the take.

You can manually fire it straight up in the air and have it come down on top of the target. Obtain a lock on the ground target. Once you have a tone, quickly point the javelin up and hit fire. It will maintain lock for 2 seconds or so. If you fire before it breaks, the missiles will go straight up, lock on and hit the tank from above.

*edit* found the vid where I learnt it:

errrr, statement withdrawn, not sure how I read it that the Javelin cant be fired that way anymore, seems it wasnt taken aways. I'll be sure to try this as I play mostly as an angineer.

Sorry bud - didn't see your post. I'm not actually sure post patch about it. Will try tonight and see what happens (haven't used the Javelin in a while - wasn't aware it was a patch issue).

I know how the guys use it in the game ala the vid, however I was saying that the weapon was incorrectly made in the game i.e. you shouldn't need to lift the launcher up before it fires. In MW2 SP they have the Javelin and you are assigned to take out some tanks/vehicles etc. and when you fire the rocket flies up then comes down on top of the targets. That is just about right for how the weapon actually works in real life. In BF3, the rockets doesn't fly up. I aim and fire it and it takes a more traditional route of flying flat to hit the target on the side. The Javelin was designed to gain height so that it hits the target from the top so it effectively kills the tank.
