Its out yet? Afaik this is only supposed to be out on the 24th.
I saw F1 2010 today in the shops.
Would love to know if anybody is playing it and whether it is any good?
The strategy part looks interesting, but I'm more interested in how the cars handle and if it is any good as a driving simulator.

No pc version according to the website which makes me sad panda
There is a PC version coming.
Where did you see it? Only 24th as Reaver said.
I've been following the development of this game religiously, big driving game fan and huge F1 fan. I really hope they pull it of but so far the reviews out are very positive. OXM gave it a 8/10, stating they didn't feel as immersed in the whole game as Dirt 2, or some crap like that, but the driving aspect is spot on. OPM gave it 9/10, also stating the the driving bit is the best of any F1 game ever. Will look for the links just now.

Here are some points on the game I posted on another forum:
1. Dynamic weather - Certain sections of the track will dry quicker (obviously on the racing line). If you are on intermediates on wets, you will have to cool your tires by driving through the puddles to ensure that your tires doesn't degrade too guickly.
2. Marbles form off the racing line.
3. A real career mode - You start as the 2nd driver in the team of your choice (depending on difficulty) and must race you way up. You can then accept offers from better teams or stick with your team. You dictate the R&D for your team (if you are the number 1 racer).
4. Awesome graphics, go check some of the wet videos.
5. More sim than arcade!
6. Each of the drivers will drive like their real life counterparts i.e Hamilton will be very aggressive, Massa fairly predictable and steady and Alonso like a douchebag.
7. Your engine will be running hot at the start of the GP, as obviously the car doesn't like standing still and not being cooled;
8. Only 8 engines per season, so you have to make sure you don't abuse the engine, like real life
9. Limited sets of tires for each race. You can go out on your "used" tires also.
10. Full race weekend!
11. If you start with a lesser team, lets say Lotus, your team will worship you if you get any points at all. You won't be able to compete, in the 1st season, with a crappy car, unless it rains and the field is evened out more.
There are loads more cool stuff. I really only hope it doesn't suffer from steering lag, made CM's other games not very nice to play with a wheel.

The left is in game, right RL

Well I saw quite a few copies for PC at Top CD Menlyn in Pretoria in between Kane and Lynch 2 and Mafia II.
Maybe they don't know that it's only going on sale the 24th lol
You sure it wasn't just like BT Games' empty pre-order games? As far as I know the game has not shipped, being tested currently. But I have absolutely no source or concrete info. Would be fricken A if the game has been released early! What about console versions?
@Reavs - Sorry, see I quoted you as Reaver in my first post.

I'll go take a look again tomorrow and report back...
My bad!! Sorry. I went to take a look again. They have Pole Position 2010!! Not F1 2010.
I only saw the F1 Cars on the cover with the 2010 and gathered it must be F1 2010. Eish!
I will go stand in the corner now.
Ah damn, hoped by some fluke we got the game early! O well, 3 weeks aint that long anymore.
F1's return to PC after so many years....... is anyone really NOT going to get it?!
Well here it is on Steam for $36 pre-order (and 24 Sept release). Good video on there too
Save 10% on F1 2010™ on Steam
Wasnt the previous F1 (2005 i think) a choppy console port? Someone mentioned it to me and it makes them hesitant to pre-order this one.
Codemasters' previous PC itterations of their racing games were proper versions so I don't think we will have any problems. I'm gonna get the game on PS anyway, easier to keep the steering wheel set-up than with my PC. All previews seems to suggest that all 3 platforms are pretty much equal, with the obvious PC advantages in the graphic department.
Ya i think im going to buy the steam special tonight, Its a good deal

F1 2010 – PC Version DirectX 11 Previews
Following the F1 2010 PC/Console graphic comparisons, German PC Games magazine has made a very interesting scoop regarding Codemasters’ upcoming title.
Despite the fact that the PC version of F1 2010 runs in DirectX 9 mode until Codemasters release their official DirectX 11 patch sometime after the release, the magazine’s experts have found out that the release version can be forced to use DirectX 11 by tinkering with the title’s config file.
Switching the “directx forcedx9″ setting to “false” in the hardware config.xml file forces the title to use the unofficial DirectX 11 mode. There’s a good reason that Codemasters has not enabled this by default as some graphic bugs seem to be appearing such as in-game monitor screens that are not working. The config file allows to tweak other settings as well such as bigger shadow- and cubemaps, improving the already impressive visuals even further.
Below is a batch of preview screens, showing the tweaked-out DirectX 11 mode in effect. Again, keep in mind that this is not officially supported so there may be graphical bugs but it gives us a very good idea of what to expect once Codemasters’ official DirectX 11 patch will be available.
Following their maiden Formula One title that was released only for the Playstation Portable and the Nintendo Wii, Codemasters will be bringing the 2010 Formula One season to the PC, the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. F1 2010 has been confirmed to be released September 24.

Source: 2 million copies of F1 2010 out - Games - Fudzilla2 million copies of F1 2010 out
With over 2 million copies of F1 2010 having been shipped to retailers, Codemasters is in the middle of its biggest launch ever for a single title. The launch needs to have good sales, as the licensing rights were not cheap. Beyond the numbers, the launch does seem to indicate that Codemasters might be turning the corner.
The early buzz on F1 2010 is good, and the steady stream of reviews have led to a metacritic rating of 86, which does seem to confirm that the game is good. Of course, strong reviews only help to sell games, and the company hopes that it will do well in some of the non-traditional F1 markets (such as the U.S.) where F1 isn’t necessarily as popular.
Wow it's jerky. Not sure if it's not liking the HD5870 or if the sound card is causing issues or both, but the game jerks a lot. 8xMSAA looks real nice though.
It's an issue with the game. The reviewers are complaining that irrespective of PC, it lags. Patch is definitely needed![]()
That's good to hear, thought it might be my GPU.
