As long as there's no crappy rts elements that creep into the game randomly.
I'm looking at you Brutal Legend.
https://twitter.com/#!/TimOfLegend/s...28305803427841Announcement! Double Fine and 2 Player Productions will use Kickstarter to fund an Adventure Game + documentary! Whoa.
Double Fine
Double Fine Adventure by Double Fine and 2 Player Productions — Kickstarter <- check out the video! The world of video game design is a mysterious one. What really happens behind the closed doors of a development studio is often unknown, unappreciated, or misunderstood. And the bigger the studio, the more tightly shut its door tends to be. With this project, we're taking that door off its hinges and inviting you into the world of Double Fine Productions, the first major studio to fully finance their next game with a Kickstarter campaign and develop it in the public eye.
Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert working on an old school adventure game...yay!

No, think less Brutal Legend, more Monkey Island/ Day of the Tentacle.
I know, what I meant was Brutal Legend sold itself as a third person action adventure in all media including the demo. Then when you got past the bit which is essentially the demo, they introduced all this *** which wasn't needed or didn't fit into the genre at all.
Less than 12 hours later the goal is reached and already surpassed by over 100K.

848K now...fast approaching 1mil in under 24 hours. How ridiculous is that!?
Poor PC Gaming. It's so dead![]()

So has anyone pledged? I kicked $15 into the kitty.
I still haven't figured out my online payments so no. That and I'm calling it now: This Project is gonna flop.

I figure that at best I get a game I probably would've bought anyway at the price it would probably retail for, and the fuzzy feeling of having play a part in something cool.
At worst? I lose R100, but I reckon that's pretty unlikely.

You're safe, Strife. It's over a million now.$955k! Guys, I'll make you a deal. If we hit $980k I'll add RTS elements to the game! And if we hit $1M, I'll take them back out!![]()

These okes will have more pressure on delivering a quality title, than Blizzard has cranking out Diablo 3.

A few weeks prior to launching his record-shattering Kickstarter campaign for a new Point-n-Click Graphic Adventure game, Tim Schafer sat down with his old boss and mentor, Ron Gilbert. Together, they look back on the genre they helped define and discussed what they did right, where they went wrong, and how they'll do things differently moving forward with the new game.
